Introduction
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Manual Machine Setter / Operator to join our production team. This is a conventional (non-automated) role requiring direct human operation of manual milling machines and drill presses. The ideal candidate will be a flexible team player willing to assist with general factory duties and monthly stocktakes.
Job description

  • Manual Machinery Operation: Set up, adjust, and safely operate conventional (manual/non-automated) milling machines and drill presses.

  • Hands-on Production: Perform drilling and milling tasks manually, ensuring consistent quality and accuracy without reliance on automation.

  • General Factory Support: Maintain an active, flexible approach by helping with general factory tasks, cleaning, and material handling as needed.

  • Inventory Control: Participate in mandatory monthly physical stocktakes and inventory counts.

  • Independent & Team Work: Work productively both on your own initiative and cohesively within a larger team.

Minimum requirements

Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven experience working with manual/conventional machinery in a factory or engineering workshop.

  • Technical Skills: Strong, practical experience in setting up and operating manual drill presses and milling machines (non-CNC).

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric certificate.

  • Language: Fluent in English with strong, clear verbal communication.

  • Nationality: Must be a South African citizen.

  • Attributes: High physical dexterity, willingness to multi-task, and a reliable work ethic.
